We are the 3rd / 4th generation farmers on Ombu in the Erongo Mountains. Our breath taking landscape is situated in the heart of Namibia. The farm is 11,600 hectare and lies approximately 300 km North West from Windhoek airport and 50 km West from Omaruru.
The journey to the farm takes you through the unique and beautiful Namibian nature and is already an adventure on its own. The farm is situated in the basin on a wide open plain which is surrounded by the majestic extinct volcanic Erongo Mountains. For the hunters we offer an unforgettable experience hunting with a large variety of game on the farm. Hunters and their partners can also just enjoy a relaxing day at the farm.
The farm is the perfect place for a holiday for the whole family or for non-hunters. We welcome guests who would just like to experience the farm life and enjoy the surroundings. Hunter and non-hunter guests will not be catered for simultaneously. Let us spoil you with our warm and homely atmosphere.
We offer 4 comfortable guest rooms with own bathrooms, some on-suite.
There are 3 different camping sites which are approximately 5 to 8 kilometers apart, guaranteeing a quiet and peaceful experience. Guests can wander between points of interest and enjoy magnificent views of the Erongo Crater and wildlife.
Each room has 220V which is 90% solar generated.
We cater for your culinary needs as well. Karen Schmidt your chef is well known beyond Ombu for her cooking, you will be impressed by her meals and warm family atmosphere. All meals are served in the kitchen or at the Lapa.
Ombu has a fully equipped butchery on the farm and guests are treated with our own produce of meat products. Freshly baked farm bread, homemade marmalade and jam made from home grown fruit and vegetables from the garden.
Let yourself be spoilt after a day of hunting or rest day with a cold and freshly tapped beer or a glass of South African wine from our fully equipped bar.

For generations hunting and game population has been a very important income for the farmers of Namibia. Ombu tradition has always exercised a controlled and nature conservation hunting operation to guarantee our game population.
The Erongo mountains is home to the Black Rhino sanctuary, regardless of that we do not have game fences (2.4m).
The Namibia Professional Hunting Association ("NAPHA") awards gold, silver and bronze medals for mature animals that qualify The Safari Club International ("SCI") record book is the recording standard for the NAPHA medal system. Trophies meeting the minimum scores for entrance into the SCI record book are awarded a silver medal. Trophies that are 5% and below this minimum score are awarded with a bronze medal and trophies that are above this minimum are honoured with a gold medal. Should the hunter choose to receive the medals, the cost will be at their own expense. We offer support to our hunters in acquiring these before they travel home.
